Hello! My name is Tom (any, he/him default), but I'm also known online as tom(strike). I am a musician of sixteen years, specializing in trumpet, and have been composing on and off for the past seven of those years. I really enjoy playing jazz and listening to VGM and anisong, and those are the genres I specialize in composing! I am currently open for work, with rates varying depending on the project/amount of labor/etc. I have a template of approximate rates, but every project is different. Terms of Service
All rates are under the assumption of personal, casual, or otherwise amateur use. Commercial licensure of my commissions will incur additional charges. Please reach out to me directly and I will be happy to provide a quote!
Once we have discussed the quote and everyone is satisfied and agree upon terms, I will issue an invoice. The client will have 30 days from issuing the invoice to make a deposit. If this timeframe passes without a deposit, both the invoice and the quote will be invalidated.
Work will not begin on commissions until a deposit has been made. Unless otherwise negotiated, I generally request a 50% deposit of the total invoiced price.
Unless otherwise agreed upon by both myself and the client, all invoices will be tracked and paid through PayPal.
Upon starting work, I have a turnaround time of two to six weeks depending on the type of work and complexity of work. If more time is required, the client will be provided ample notice.
Should I be unable to complete the requested commission, the client will be provided notice. Depending on how far the commission has progressed, either a full or partial refund will be provided. Otherwise, all commission services I provide are non-refundable.
Updates will be provided at minimum twice during the process. The first update will occur around the 10-20% progress mark to ensure what is being created is to the client's liking. The second update will occur around the 50% progress mark. Updates may be requested by the client at any time, but excessive update requests may be denied by me at my discretion.
Upon approval of the final product and payment of the remainder of the invoiced price, final files at maximum file quality will be provided to the client. All files will be retained by me for up to one year. Excessive requests for file retrieval may incur additional charges, especially if the files requested had been sent prior.
During the work process, clients may request as may edits/changes as they wish. Upon the final product's completion, they may request up to three rounds of edits/changes. Further requests may incur additional charges.
I reserve all intellectual property rights and usage rights to the commissions I create. I also reserve the right to use the commissions I create to assist in promoting my services.
By requesting my commission services, you confirm that you agree to and accept these terms of service. All commission services I provide are subject to and bound by the terms as listed above.
File Submission Expectations
For any services requiring backing tracks, please make every attempt to provide high-quality audio files. If possible, YouTube rips should be avoided due to YouTube's automatic compression that they apply.
Any audio files provided to me for a commission should be provided in 24-bit .wav files with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz minimum. Please reach out to me if you need assistance with this.
For recorded audio, please make every attempt to remove all sources of background noise prior to beginning your recording. In addition, if possible please adjust your microphone positioning and/or room acoustic treatment to reduce other sources of noise, reverb, echo, etc.
For recorded audio, all files should be submitted without any post-processing. Performances should be relatively in time and in tune and should have no distortion or clipping.
Overlapping vocals should be provided in separate audio files. Clients who include overlapping vocals on the same file will be asked to re-record their performances.
For clients submitting recorded audio, if possible, please include a file recording 10 seconds of silence to assist me with applying noise reduction.
All files submitted are assumed to be final.
I reserve the right to request the client provide retakes or deny commission services if any of the above guidelines are not followed.
